THE COMPANY

DUTCH BARGES WE BUILT & LAUNCHED A GENERATION AGO ARE STILL DELIGHTING THE OWNERS.

We are a family business. We always have been – since we began following our own dream and building beautiful boats and Dutch barges in 1969.

And although we’ve grown and grown – expanding our production operation and the range of Dutch Style Barges our clients can commission – we’ve never forgotten the values we set out on day one: a commitment to quality in every single thing we do; a promise that every time you speak to us, you’ll be welcomed with a friendly smile; and a dedication to helping everyone who’s day-dreamed ‘I’d love my own boat’ realise their ambition.

We are part of a larger family too; with all our Dutch Barge and boat owners past and present having a deep connection…a love of the open water and the boats that help them explore it. Over the years, we have built and launched around 900 vessels including our stunning bespoke Dutch style barges. And annually we invite as many of their owners as we can to join us at a special weekend event at Henley.

It’s a celebration of Piper Boats, a chance to swap stories and tall tales and appreciate the individual bespoke ducth barge  details which make each other’s craft special.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

FROM START TO FINISH, FROM BOW TO STERN, WE DEVOTE THE TIME AND ATTENTION NEEDED TO DELIVER EXCELLENCE WITH EVERY DUTCH BARGE

We take immense pride in a job well done with every Dutch Barge. And because you’re expecting the best, we only use the best. The best raw materials; we only use Lloyds Grade A ship building steel for our Dutch Barges at our 17,000 sq ft custom-built manufacturing facility.

The best techniques employed by all our skilled Dutch Barge builders– whether innovative or time-proven. And the best people. Because we’ve put together a team of real craftspeople: designers, fabricators, welders, fitters,

electricians, engineers, joiners and painters who combine incredible skill with real care and attention to the finest detail.

It’s a team who truly care about the job they do – from the first precision pass with the plasma cutter to the last sleek coat of varnish (after the two coats of primer, two undercoats and three coats of gloss of course).
