Salon Fluvial at the beginning of April was a great few days, 12 Piper barges took part and the weather was warm & dry for the time of year.
It was a bit touch & go as to whether 5 or 6 of the boats could make it from Auxonne as the Saone was in flood, flowing fast and with a lot of tree debris, but on a Thursday morning, the VNF agreed to open the lock and let them up onto the canal for us.
57N GAIA finally arrived in Migennes at the end of April after sitting in our yard since the new year. The Yonne had been in flood for most of March/April, and Dover port was closed to abnormal loads for a week at the end of April, so we had to load the boat on the Friday before. Our haulier then took it back to his yard in Ashford for the weekend, and they boarded the ferry on Monday before the port closed on Tuesday.
